RacingSparrow 750mm Radio Controlled Yacht

Loading

The RacingSparrow is designed for the DIY-home scratch builder. Low material costs and a limited toolset were the top priorities in the design of the boat. There are five different plans available for free download. Scroll down a bit to download them. They are scaled versions of the same design. This gives the scratch builder a decent selection of designs but retain the low cost, simple tools approach.

A new design(19 December2009) fits within the RG-65 offical rules and is a modified racingsparrow designed to excell in high winds. It has more hull volume, a longer keel and slight proportion tweaks. It's a suped up racingsparrow, slightly shorter.

The RacingSparrow 750 plans and a highly visual building guide come with the book "Build your own radio controlled yacht." All the techniques and materials for all five boat sizes are the same so the book is very adaptable.

The most popular design is the rs750mm. The rs1000mm is also quite popular amongst scratch builders. The big rs1500mm is quite a challenge while the rs375mm is good for a play with planking techniques. The new designed RG65 is not shown.
